Name: Helios Age: Six Years Breed: Pintabian Gender: Stallion Clan: Sunrunners Rank: Medicine Height: 14.2 HH Color: Bay Overo Markings: Black points Picture: clicky clicky - this is a stock image, and i will manip it later. (: Other: N/A
Personality: Helios is very wise for his age, calm-tempered and thoughtful. He is a nurturer, a hard trait to find in high-strung Arabians, and especially in prideful and passionate Sunrunners. Helios was actually very meticulous in his doings, in his thoughts, and in his words. He is kind, but strict, keeping solid to the pride of the Sunrunners by applying it to being proud that he follows the rules with a strict guideline. His passion is his ability to help others, to be the backbone of the clan when they are weak. He is a handsome face, and not too old either, but he is strictly set upon his task of being there for his clan. The rules state no distractions, and Helios would not even think of doing otherwise.
History: Growing up, Helios' sire wanted him to be a warrior. As a colt, he was put through rigorous training exercises and sparred many an opponent. The colt's heart was never into the fighting, however, and his sire grew frustrated and angry, thinking that his son was merely lazy and unmotivated. One morning, Helios' dam went out looking for the colt, as he had run off to play by himself on his break from training. The sun was sinking so she moved hastily through the rocky cliffs. Her tiny pewter hooves retained little to no traction on the smooth, unsteady surfaces, and she slipped, minorly cutting her coronet on sharp stone. The wound was meager and hardly hindered her, and finally the Arabian found her son in a field of dead grasses. The blood on her leg stood out to the tiny fledgeling, and he aided his mother in giving her yarrow to eat, and then also compress onto the wound. His mother humored her son in eating the plant and letting him treat the tiny scrape as well, thinking it was one of his made-up games. However, the next day, she realized that the small cut was all but healed, the wound now with new skin about and around the previously slashed epidermis.
Quickly, the dam told Helios's sire of the happenings, and urged him to enroll Helios as the apprentice of the medicine horse at the time. Reluctantly - because the prideful Paint wanted a hearty warrior as a son to boast of - he allowed Helios to try out the apprenticeship of the medicine horse, and when the colt began to excel in his studies, the prideful father found a new target of where his pride lay. His son would be a great medicine horse.

As the sun set on the horizon line of the valley, a lone figure stood in the portrayal, disrupting the essence of perfection. From far away, the horse was a shadow, the colors of its coat no match for the bright burning ball of light slowly sinking downward. Upon a closer inspection, however, dull colors of the insignificant figure began to show themselves, deep bay overtones splashed with white, meticulously and uniquely framing a face with eyes of ice blue. He was standing still, unwavering, as the sun bore down intense light that would typically make one sheild their eyes from its majesty.
However, this individual inparticular was not. He was standing towards the setting sun, watching it in all its valor, horrendously marvelous hues of yellow and oranges, reds and violets outskirting the canvas of bright, warm tones. His gaze was riveted on nothing inparticular, fixated on something far, far away and hazy. Lost in thought perhaps? Sleeping with his eyes open? Not exactly.
Helios' breathing was peaceful and shallow. His blood pressure had lowered and his heart beat slowed, thudding softly with the tune of nature. The sights that flashed across the bay overo's mind were extraordinary. Flashbacks had absolutely nothing on what he was seeing, for what he was seeing was far more important than a memory, tucked and stowed away for viewing pleasure later.
Rather, this was of the future - snippets of the forthcomings and what-may-happens that linger ahead, a day, two days, a week, years from now. The timeline wasn't static, it did not always filter through his special mind in chronological order. However, the images lightened the stallion's mind, eased his body of tension, and, as one to stick close to the books of rules, he did not question his gift. He took it as it was, and deciphered it with as sharp of a mind as he could retain.
Finally, after minutes that seemed like hours, combined into an hour that seemed like a day, the stagnant gaze of his unwavering stare faltered.
Helios blinked.
The images faded from his conscious memory, although he had enough knowhow to decipher them with speed and pinpointing skill. His head rose up, squinting into the sun where only moments before, he was looking directly into the hazardous light with bright, silver-blue eyes. His breathing increased to normal tempo, his heart rate upped to formidable speed.
And he stepped forward.
The words that escaped his lips were to no one inparticular, though nature around him heard the faint foretelling, the soft excitement on his tenor vocals making the sound oh, that much sweeter, as the bay overo turned towards home.
"Sol is coming."
