The ranks are the same in every clan just to make everything a bit easier, and here's a quick rundown for each ranking.
Leader: Top dogs, what they say goes, may train apprentices if they so desire, always a warrior and very rarely do they have foals, may be stallions or mares.
Beta: the second in command, they must only truly obey the leader, may train apprentices if their leader commands them, always a warrior, if a mare they will sometimes have foals, may be stallions or mares
Medicine: the healers within the clan, normally only one and their apprentice, not allowed to have foals since it's seen as a distraction from their main duty to the clan, may be stallions or mares.
Warriors: the main defenders/fighters of the clans, are often the mentors of apprentices, may be stallions or mares
Broods: mares that are currently raising foals, they may also be warriors taking a break for some time or permanent additions which means raising a foal every year, mares only
Elders: warriors/broods that have grown too old to provide service to the clan besides their wisdom, may be stallions or mares
Apprentices: the foals ranging from weanlings to three years that are learning the ways of the clan and how to fight, may also be apprenticed to the medicine horse if chosen, may be colts or fillies.
Foals: any foal ranging from under a weanling, may be colts or fillies.
